Yeah but we got shitty looking headlamps.

Oh yes. At least you got the proper wheels

Ah, more sweet temptation, and still remarkably cheap in Blighty. What are they like to drive?

The ride is sweet, interior's OK, handling not quite on a par with 3-series, engines good but not very powerful, autobox seems to 'lose' 25% of the power. You can pick one up for £1k. The Cosworth prepped 190E 2.5-16 is best

2.5-16v's never made it to the US, we're stuck with the 2.3-16v. But I'm not complaining. Getting rid of smog equipment and throwing MegaSquirt has restored the balls on mine to Euro-swing standard plus a little extra.

Yep. My wife had two (not at the same time). Can't remember why we sold the first one...she really did like the cars.

Mega! Great condition, roll cage and race seats too!

Many thanks! I thought this might be the one Merc to get with a manual. Slowness doesn't bother me overly, so a plain 2.0E might do me nicely. Off to ebay...

Yeah, but you can't get a Cossie for a grand, can you? And word on the street is that an engine rebuild for a 2.3-16v is upwards of $10,000.

Sweet little cars. I learned to drive in my Dad's 190e and remember it fondly. It lasted 400k miles.
